  • Any team made up of 50% kids is a Positive Tracks team. That means that ALL of the funds raised by EVERYONE on the team will be matched by Positive Tracks! So, if your family is equal kids and adults, or more kids than adults, ALL of the teams' fundraising will be matched.
  • If participants register early, and choose to fundraise, then a family of 4 could participate in the CHaD HERO and only pay registration fees of $70.
  • Small Children - We will never expect children to participate unaccompanied by an adult
  • If the parent is not concerned that the child receive a t-shirt, participant food or bib, the child can be registered as a 'virtual participant' with no registration fee or fundraising requirement.

FAQ

1.) What if my child does not have an email address? You may register them as a managed participant.

Anyone who does not have email addresses, or who may not be old enough yet to manage their own fundraising page, can be registered by a parent, or other adult, as a "managed participant". Managed participants will have a fundraising page, but it is managed by the person who registers them.

How to register a managed participant

1.) Register yourself as a participant On the confirmation screen from your registration look for this banner:

2.) Click on the link. Or from your fundraising dashboard, select the option to "register another participant".

3.) Select the child's relationship to you and the option to manage this person's account.
4.) Complete the registration form for the child. They are now a registered participant under you.

To access a managed fundraiser's account and fundraising page

  1. Login using your email address and password
  2. In the black bar at the top of your dashboard, note the name of the person on the far right - it will either be you or the registered participant - depending on who you were logged in as when you last logged out. Click on the "Welcome, [name]" drop down and select the option to change user. Choose the user you would like to manage and click continue.

2.) Do I pay $75 for my child to run the 5k?

Participants who are under 23 pay a registration fee of $10 if they register before August 15 and $25 thereafter. They are then required to fundraise an additional $50. The child and parent should decide whether they would like to pay this amount outright or if they will fundraise the amount by race day. If the participant has not raised the additional $50, they will be charged the difference of what they have raised and $50, following the event.

It is our goal and intention that participants fundraise the minimum amount by asking friends and family to support them with a donation, and NOT that participants pay the fundraising minimum outright. Doing this, the minimum any youth could pay to participate is $10 or $25, depending on when they register. Additionally, we have partnered with Positive Tracks, a local non-profit, whose mission it is to inspire youth age 23 and under to get active and give back by fundraising for CHaD. As part of that partnership, Positive Tracks has issued us a fundraising grant to match all funds raised by participants who are 23 and younger.

3.) For my child to run the 5k, do I also have to register and fundraise?

Adults pay a $25 registration fee if they register before August 15 and $50 thereafter. They are then required to raise an additional $75. The participant needs to decide for him or herself, if they would like to pay this amount outright or if they will fundraise the amount by race day. Participants will be charged the difference of what they have raised and $75, following the event. It is our goal and intention that participants fundraise the minimum amount by asking friends and family to support them with a donation, and NOT that participants pay the fundraising minimum outright. Doing this the minimum any adult could pay to participate is $25 or $50, depending on when they register.
