...our eight month-old son, Jack was about to go in to CHaD for his second surgery. We were scared, but knew he was in good hand. Rewind eight months to the day of his birth: we were shocked to learn that there was something 'wrong' with our newborn son. Jack was born with a rare congenital birth defect called a giant melanocytic nevus, which required removal.
Thanks to the skilled doctors, nurses and staff at The Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Jack recieved the care he needed during both his surgeries and shortly after when he battled a serious infection.
You'd never know by watching him today that his first year of life was so tumultuous, he's a brave and resilient boy.
There's nothing quite as scary as the prospect of losing a child and we are forever grateful to The Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock for the care they provided our family.
Since that time, I have been compelled to make a difference for other families-to make sure the care is there for others as it was for Jack.
Every donation makes a difference! I'd love your help in reaching my fundraising goals.
